Australia accounts for just 0.33% of the world’s population yet we are one of the highest emitters of greenhouse gas emissions per capita in the world. The Australian construction industry generates around 20 million tonnes of waste every year. Too much of that waste ends up in landfill. on a larger scale, building and construction is responsible for nearly 40% of all carbon emissions in the world. We are striving to be better and do better. We apply our knowledge of Passive House principles to our designs, drastically reducing the long term energy consumption of the building, in turn, minimising its carbon footprint. We look at design as a multi layered approach, considering the carbon footprint of the materials, the ongoing operational use, site context and needs of the client. We are always designing, reading, researching and brainstorming ways we can minimise our impact on the environment throughout the construction process.
